Westin Sanya Haitang Bay
Vibrant garden and water view

Last week, The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort opened on Hainan Island, the most popular tropical destination in China. The 448-room resort is located on Haitang Bay against a stunning backdrop of mountains, sparkling waters and a variety of tropical plants. Submerge your group into an island oasis with five swimming pools, expansive beaches and gorgeous views.

The guestrooms have a chic, modern design with expansive balconies facing lush gardens onsite or the sea. The rooms include bright blue rugs, metallic accents and chrome walls with large gold accents.

Dining options include Five Senses restaurant, serving traditional Cantonese cuisines and dishes from various regions of China. Mai restaurant invites groups to sample popular Japanese cuisine, including sushi and hibachi-style dishes.

The destination is located along the southern coast of China in the South China Sea, just 30 minutes away from the Sanya Phoenix International Airport. There are regular flights between Sanya and 18 other cities, including Beijing.

The lush beauty of the destination mixed with modern amenities make it the ideal destination for an incentive meeting. Sanya is located in a hotel zone, but still retains its unspoiled landscape. With gorgeous blue waters in both the sea and the East/West Rivers that run through the area, it creates several options for groups to step off dry land.

The venue is within close distance to Wuzhi Mountain, Hainan's highest mountain. Offsite excursions include a day at Nan Wan Monkey Island, yacht charters to Wuzhizhou Island for diving and swimming and the Nantian hot springs. Recreational activities include rafting down the Wanquan River or heading to one of the popular theme parks within the city. Nearby shopping outlets include Summer Mall only 15 miles away.

The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort is the brand's 18th property in China. During the next year, three more Westin hotels are expected to open in the Greater China area.

“We are truly delighted to open our first Westin beach resort,” says GM Raetus Balzer. “The Westin brand has enjoyed tremendous success in China, and we will continue on this growth trajectory, bringing our innovative programming and signature design to dynamic destinations, ensuring that all guests leave feeling better than when they first arrived at our hotels.”

Total meeting space is 290,625-sf.
