South Florida’s innovative new science museum offers a range of VIP experiences for groups.
The highly anticipated Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science opened its doors in May this year, completing the vision of downtown Miami’s Museum Park as a hub dedicated to science, art and culture. Situated on a 250,000-sf campus, the museum includes a state-of-the-art planetarium, as well as a three-level aquarium dedicated to South Florida’s diverse marine life. Six floors of interactive exhibitions explore the ecosystem of the Everglades, the evolution of flight, human biology and more. Here’s a sampling of VIP experiences that are already “wowing” groups.
Rooftop Stargazing
“From our incredible three-level aquarium, flexible science exhibition halls, to our 250-seat full-dome Frost Planetarium there are endless possibilities we can offer groups at the new Frost Science,” says Lourdes Ramos, director of events and sales at the museum. “A special activity we’re excited to offer small groups is stargazing on our rooftop. Our astronomy team will be on hand with telescopes to guide the group through our night sky.”
Build Your Own Comet
Groups can reserve the 3,800-sf lower level of the aquarium for a dining experience directly underneath the 500,000-gallon Gulf Stream Aquarium where devil rays and sharks cruise overhead. Innovative team building includes creating your own baseball-size comets from dry ice and everyday materials, and working in teams to engineer a roller coaster with only foam, tape, marbles and physics. Buyouts of the whole museum are also available for groups of more than 1,000.
