Planning fun and innovative events in Austin, Texas is no problem, with options such as SUP (stand-up) board meetings on Lake Austin to new state-of-the-art conference facilities.

Set on 7,000 acres overlooking LBJ Lake, the Horseshoe Bay Resort offers 385 guest rooms as well as 1-3 bedroom lakeside condos. Groups can charter a trip on the resort’s party yacht, which has three full-service bars. Team building activities can take place on the Whitewater Putting Course, an 18-hole, par-72 miniature golf course complete with waterfalls and exotic birds. For more serious golfers, there are three championship courses plus a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

The all-inclusive Lake Austin Spa Resort offers 40 luxury guest rooms situated on 19 secluded acres just 30 minutes from downtown Austin. It limits events to one corporate group at a time to ensure complete attention, and can accommodate anything from an intimate meeting for 10, to a complete buyout for as many as 65.

“Our location on the beautiful shores of Lake Austin allows us to use the water as a vehicle for kayak relays, SUP (stand-up) board meetings, boat cruises with yoga, forest bathing and more than 30 other options in our new Ripple Effect water program,” says Janis Clapoff, managing director at Lake Austin Spa Resort. “Our 6-person SUP and Hobie pedal boards provide creative team building activities that you won’t find anywhere else.” The resort’s “Culinary Experience” is also popular as new, celebrity guest chefs, sommeliers and wine experts are regularly added to the mix.

The AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center, located steps away from the University of Texas, will offer 20,000-sf of event and pre-function space when its new Rowling Hall facility opens in early 2017. The Center offers the most state-of-the-art conference facilities in Austin, with the latest technology and 80,000 sf of space ranging from a 300-seat tiered amphitheater to an 800-seat divisible ballroom.
