Singapore Hosts Four New Luxury Hotels

The Singapore hotel scene is putting on a fresh, new face with multi-million dollar renovations and a string of new hotels opening later this year and in 2013.

The Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is unveiling a new Garden Wing this summer after a $51.5 million renovation. The renovated Garden Wing will feature a new dining concept with the Waterfall Garden Café and Singapore’s first CHI, The Spa.

The Pan Pacific Singapore is also in the midst of an $64 million investment for its biggest transformation in the hotel’s 25-year history, closing in April of this year and reopening part of its premises and facilities in August of this year. The new Pan Pacific Singapore is expected to be fully operational in September. The 790-room property will see guest rooms, restaurants and the lobby undergo a major transformation, with the highlight being the spectacular 360O view Pacific Club on Level 38, the topmost level of the hotel.

The W Singapore Sentosa Cove, whotels.com, W Hotels’ first ever Singapore property, is scheduled to open in August, 2012 and islocated on an exclusive island resort area. The property will feature 240 fully-wired rooms, styled in Singapore chic; vibrant beach bars; trendy restaurants; a fully equipped SWEAT Fitness Center and signature Bliss Spa.

PARKROYAL on Pickering, pphg.com, is opening later this year and will offer green features such as rainwater harvesting, automatic sensors to regulate energy and water usage, and solar cells that will power landscape lighting. In total, the property will boast approximately 160,000 square feet of sky gardens, reflecting pools, waterfalls, planter terraces and green walls, extending the green areas of nearby Hong Lim Park and further encouraging bio-diversity in the city.

The Sofitel So Singaporeis also slated to open in 2013. The contemporary ‘So’ is Sofitel’s designer ‘boutique hotel’ label and is widely known as the fashionable sister of the luxurious Sofitel brand with a stronger focus on design and modern technology features. Apart from embodying Sofitel’s signature French luxury and elegance, each Sofitel So expresses the very essence of its destination.

Set to open in 2013, Sofitel So Singapore blends design, pleasure, style and personality with a chic Singaporean twist. The luxury hotel will feature 134 guestrooms with 23 suites equipped with cutting edge technology and a uniquely designed theme representing modern Singapore while preserving the building’s heritage.

Located at 35 Robinson Road, one of Singapore’s most prestigious addresses at the heart of Singapore’s bustling city center, Sofitel So Singapore is minutes from iconic landmarks including Marina Bay Sands, the centerpiece of Singapore’s skyline, and close to the premier shopping belt, Orchard Road.

With the addition of Sofitel So Singapore, Sofitel currently has a network of three So label properties and another two under development in trendy, contemporary locations around the world. The first location was the Sofitel So Mauritius, which opened in December, 2010. Sofitel So Bangkok, the first urban Sofitel So, in February, 2012 and the fourth Sofitel So hotel in the pipeline, Sofitel So Mumbai, is set to open in 2015.
