Marival Group is ‘Seriously All-Inclusive’ in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico

Marival Group has two all-inclusive properties spanning over 900 feet of Pacific Mexico’s beautiful white sand beaches in the upscale Nuevo Vallarta resort community. The 495-room Marival Resort & Suites and 4-diamond 169-residence Marival Residences & World Spa are located less than a quarter mile apart, tied together with an 18,000-sf convention center. The properties are less than 15 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport.

Of the two, Marival Residences & World Spa offers a ‘Seriously All-Inclusive Concept’ that packs in a unique array of upscale and cool group experiences. That can mean anything from premium liquors like Grey Goose vodka to swimming with sea lions. Marival Resort, meanwhile, also provides a wealth of high-value all-inclusive amenities.

Salvador Ramos, VP sales/marketing, promises planners a “world of possibilities.” After speaking with him, we really want to check out the wine-stomping spa experience.

Prevue: What are the resorts’ top selling points?

Salvador Ramos: We have two properties in Nuevo Vallarta—the 3-diamond Marival Resort & Suites and 4-diamond Marival Residences & World Spa. Marival Resort consists of 495 rooms, 120 of which are 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom suites. Marival Residences has 169 residences. We call them residences because they are larger than rooms or suites. They’re more like apartments and the smallest unit on the property is 1,400 sf. They range from 1- to 4-bedroom residences.

The two properties are a quarter of a mile apart and share a convention center where we have more than 18,000 square feet of space that fits 1,200 people for a conference or 700 people banquet-style. Both properties have an all-inclusive concept but they have their own flavor, if you can call it that.

Marival Resort has been in the all-inclusive business for a while. We have a full-force all-inclusive concept that includes nightly entertainment, a full activities program and watersports, along with four pools, six restaurants, eight bars and a dance club that’s open until 2 a.m. Our restaurants go from buffet style for lunch to a la carte for dinner. We’re on the beach so we have over 900 feet of beachfront space. The beach here is very safe because you can walk more than 150 feet out into the water and it still only reaches your waist.

The property is very complete so it fits into many categories: meetings, incentives and leisure among them. Having all these options and areas suitable for events gives you a world of possibilities. We even have a separate welcome area for groups. Plus, everything is included in your set price.

How inclusive is Marival Residences?

The rooms are like apartments here so the idea is to enjoy the property and our ‘Seriously All-Inclusive’ Concept. Aside from food, beverages and the basics, we also include golf, among a few other things. We have two magnificent courses, and one of them is a Jack Nicklaus course.

Activities and excursions like ziplining, swimming with dolphins and sea lions, sunset sailing and city tours are also covered with the all-inclusive price. Whenever you’re dealing with groups, especially incentives, it’s very easy finding something for everyone that doesn’t cost you anything extra. We also have a very nice beach club, so you can have a relaxing, pleasant experience on our beach.

What we tried to accomplish with our all-inclusive concept is for a meeting planner to be able to go and sit down with one person and take care of everything at once. We even have a company called Traffic Tours that works with us. They are the largest DMC in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. Transportation can also be supplied for your group.

Since the two properties share the convention center we can host large groups between both hotels. When you stay at the Residences you can also enjoy the amenities of the Resort.

What types of meeting spaces are available for groups at both properties?

The convention center can be divided into three parts so you can have multiple sessions going on at once. We also have a foyer where you can host coffee breaks or use it as a breakout area.

You can host beachside events and we have two pool areas that can be used as well. We use them annually for our New Year’s Eve parties and fit up to 1,400 people. Since our restaurants are all-inclusive, we can use them for meetings or dinearounds so groups for instance can have dinner at our Italian restaurant one night and our Mexican one the next. Dividing groups up into different restaurants is also a great alternative for big groups, instead of eating dinner inside a convention center or meeting space because they’re too large a group for any one restaurant.
