Paradisus Palma Real Resort
Two all-suite resorts in Punta Cana on the east coast of the Dominican Republic will have you hooked on exceptional Paradisus service, endless activities and lavish amenities, plus spirits one shelf higher than typical for many all-inclusive resorts. The biggest decision is whether your group will prefer the more natural Caribbean feel of the 694-room Paradisus Punta Cana Resort or the more international and upscale 554-room Paradisus Palma Real Resort.
The idyllic postcard settings and incredible amenities at both resorts are an incentives planner’s dream. Each offers a private VIP experience in The Reserve accommodations, as well as a Royal Service suite category in the main resort area. So planners can customize the level of luxury to suit their individual groups for tiered incentives and VIPs.
PARADISUS PUNTA CANA RESORT
“We distinguish ourselves from other hotels with our personalized service, and our soul and magic,” says Rafael Torres, managing director of Paradisus Resorts Punta Cana. “Through continuous training, we induce staff compliance with our standards and continuous monitoring of the operation to maintain excellence. The best part of my job is a satisfied customer.”
The 148 adults-only Royal Service suites provide not only luxurious beachside accommodations but their own private beach area, lounge, restaurant, pool and amenities like the Aroma/Spa Pillow Menu, jasmine candles and ylang-ylang incense. Sink into the double hydromassage tub with chamomile flowers, soy and coconut milk. For C-suite executives, there are four huge oceanview Ambassador Suites with outdoor Bali showers and double balconies overlooking spectacular Bavaro Beach.
The hotel’s recently renovated Luxury Junior Suites have a European flair and balcony or private terrace with Bali bed and tub. All in-room fridges come stocked with guests’ preference including Cava and premium liquors.
For groups with families, The Reserve is minutes away from the main resort action. The self-contained hotel with 170 rooms has a residential feel, family concierge, exclusive outlets, pools and a Kid Zone. The pool grill served the best fish sandwich our neighboring Michigan guests ever had. They loved the lounge’s well-stocked bar, self-serve espresso machine and petite delicacies day and night.
Delegates flock outdoors to lounge on the beach, splash in one of the five spectacular pools. Private cabanas, luxurious double loungers and swim up bars are all included. For activities, there’s golf, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, bungee jumping, rock wall climbing, archery lessons, baseball cages, sushi rolling, rhumba lessons and candle making. There are also unlimited green fees at Cocotal Golf Course.
Dine together or let delegates choose among 12 restaurants ranging bikini-casual to haute cuisine. Flamingos strut the water around Aqua’s three private palapas, each with a table for 10. Add the casino, nine bars, banquet areas and nightly entertainment like Le Cirque and your meeting is complete. Trollies unobtrusively loop the resort, to and from the sprawling open air lobby crisscrossed with lush gardens, lively gathering places, water features and carvings.
Always a favorite for planners, GABi Beach is the signature oceanfront bar/restaurant core to every Paradisus resort. Open day and night, it’s a combo of Caribbean beat and South Beach chic with Balinese beds and fresh passionfruit drinks. Watch the fire show or dance on the tiki torch lit sand.
Paradisus Punta Cana is meeting ready with 20,000 sf of indoor space seating 700 at once, and 13 meeting rooms with windows opening outside.
PARADISUS PALMA REAL RESORT
There’s a lovely elegant feel with manicured gardens and a Mediterranean influence at the Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort, with 200 Royal Service Suites and 190 Reserve rooms. Yet this, the most luxurious resort in the brand, also sports a playful twist. Colorful hammocks line the sand like flags. Framed by spectacular ocean views and the glorious Bavaro Beach, this resort’s epicenter is a truly spectacular 400,000-sf pool with six hydromassage areas traversed by a domed gazebo walkway to the shops, restaurants, bars and casino framing the main building. There are equally welcoming pools in the Royal Service and Reserve area.
The YHI Spa & Wellness area is an astounding 23,700-sf of Asian flair open air hydrotherapy and treatment rooms. Try the hypnotic Lotus, Gold & Rice Signature massage. A private outdoor shower of fresh water cascading from stone carvings completes the experience. The outdoor Eco Spa has private thatched cabanas. Meanwhile, an exclusive thermal retreat pampers Royal Service guests near their lounge.
Nonstop “life enrichment” options range from cigar rolling, merengue classes and sand art to meditation, snorkeling and cocktail mixing. Arrange for private champagne tastings or rum pairings, greeted by local musicians and surrounded by inspirational artwork.
Adult-only groups love the private pool and exclusive amenities of the Royal Service Suites beachside. Set apart, The Reserve offers its trademark boutique hotel with Family Concierge Service and dedicated outlets. The winning feature is the swim up access from The Reserve’s enormous pool to suites with private garden terraces and cabanas.
Over 30,000 room nights are booked each year by groups. The 14 meeting rooms total 25,000 sf of flexible space with the largest room holding 850 pax. High ceilings, high speed internet, built-in screens and the latest technology make planning a breeze.
“We get all kinds of incentive groups and meetings attracted by the personalized service we provide,” says Torres. “We are the most luxurious hotel in Punta Cana with excellent facilities for events, with a beautiful beach, outstanding gastronomy and complete and comfortable meeting rooms making a perfect mix.”
Torres adds that a new 204,500-sf convention center is opening November 2013.
The elegance and artwork of the resort extends seamlessly into the meeting and convention areas, offering additional options for private receptions and group dining.
The magnificent beach, nine bars and 12 restaurants can be used for groups or individually. For private events, with an upcharge, the Passion by Martin Berasategui is a truly exceptional epicurean experience with a resort elegant dress code. Flowing chandeliers of glass blown hearts glow warmly against a black and white canvas, gossamer hangings and red rose motif. The setting alone breathes sophistication. Order a la carte or the tasting menu and paired wines. Passion’s innovative chef has earned seven Michelin stars, and his dishes are always a marriage of delicacies.
Stroll the beach, try your luck in the casino, have a laugh and a drink in the extensive lobby lounge transformed at night with music and cool lighting, or attend tonight’s show, perhaps a Michael Jackson tribute. Dance off your dinner at GABi Beach or the late night Red Lounge.
Red doubles as smooth satellite group check in. Check out is equally simple and personal, especially at The Reserve or Royal Service where we return the complementary cell phone used to connect with our butler.
