PGA National Resort & Spa rolled out the red carpet for 30 senior meeting planners last week at Prevue’s Palm Beach Summit, entitled “Transforming Meetings.” At every turn, attendees had a chance to rethink their events, and learned countless techniques for doing so.

The opening session by Sharon Fisher challenged roundtable groups to shatter their assumptions about various elements of their meetings and a later session by Fisher had them re-designing their events to incorporate every age group. An app designed for the event by Jeannie Power of Power Event Group illustrated how to use polling, social media and even a custom-designed scavenger hunt to engage the group. Other sessions included a talk by Eric Rozenberg about aligning events with the goals of the C Suite and a presentation of ways to integrate the the hotel’s fitness experts—including a dynamite Zumba instructor—was orchestrated by Hallie Sculler. Even the F&B echoed the theme, with opportunities for attendees to design their own grilled cheese sandwiches, make their own smoothies and shake their own salads.

The opening reception had a Middle Eastern theme, with charming decor, floor pillows and a cabana where Sharon Fisher held a “Pillow Talk” session, a safe space for people to talk about their personal and professional challenges. All attendees received a beautiful pair of pajamas from the Punjammies PJ Bar, which benefits victims of human trafficking, and a gift box of wellness items from Happy Being.Life. The second evening, the group traveled to the soon-to-open Brightline Terminal in Palm Beach for an exclusive cocktail reception, followed by dinner at Seasons 52 in Palm Beach Gardens. On Saturday, the group had the chance to get a private tour and enjoy lunch aboard the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas as it was docked in Port Everglades.
