Salamander Hotels & Resorts runs and operates luxury properties in Florida, South Carolina and the Dominican Republic, with the ultra-luxe Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, VA set to open in 2013. The properties are ideal for both meetings with ample function space, beautiful backdrops and an upscale vibe. And for a limited time, meeting planners who book $35,000 in guestroom revenue will receive a new iPad. Or, book $5,000 and be entered into a drawing to win one of 10 iPads during the company’s iWin promotion.

The drawing will take place on July 2. In order to be eligible, contracts must be signed by June 30 for meetings between now and December 30. Only new bookings are eligible to participate.

The contest is open to planners booking at any of the properties in Salamander’s portfolio, which includes the two properties that make up Grand Resorts at Cap Cana, the AAA 5-Diamond Woodlands Inn and the three Grand Golf Resorts of Florida—Innisbrook Resort in Tampa Bay, Reunion Resort in Orlando and Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast. The three hotels total 1,250 suite accommodations and 200,000 sf of meeting space.

One of Salamander’s lavish Florida properties, Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast is located along two miles of pristine Atlantic coastline near historic St. Augustine. Along with larger than usual villas and condo-style guestrooms, Hammock Beach Resort features a 91,000-sf multi-level water park and two signature golf courses, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson.

Small groups can dine at Delfinos, which serves regional Italian cuisine and is located in the resort’s main tower.  Try their spinach and crab-filled manicotti. Larger groups can host a moonlit dinner event on the beach for up to 5,000.

The resort also offers a wide array of teambuilding activities. Take their Boat Regatta, for instance, where teams build a boat out of a few meager supplies to compete in a regatta. The resort has “first mates” on hand to add to coach groups as they quickly learn the concepts of teamwork and creative problem solving. Each team presents their creation in the “Parade of Boats,” performs a team cheer or song and ‘christens’ their watercraft, as they prepare to test their boat’s seaworthiness. At the end one sailor boards the vessel and takes it for a ride around the resort’s lazy river.

Complete your stay with a sunset sail aboard The Sundancer Yacht—the hotel’s newest feature. Commissioned by Hammock Beach Resort, the 117-foot vessel is available for private group charters along the Intracoastal Waterway. It features two bars, a full galley, lounge with fireplace, HDTV, private office/dressing room and an enclosable rear deck.
