Bringing groups together under the light of South Florida’s magical full moon, The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale launched a series of themed evening events to benefit local organizations. Join them on the breezy pool terrace overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic, for live music, specially priced cocktails and tasty bar bites. Try the sirloin beef sliders or mini lobster sandwiches with a brioche bun and avocado aioli.

This month’s theme, An Arabian Night, takes you to the mystical land of Persia where tarot card readers will predict your future and resident DJ Rob Riggs seduces you with his sultry mix. Telescopes will also be available at the event, taking place November 10 from 7-10 p.m.

The gathering will benefit the Broward Public Library Foundation and their annual “Books and Bears” program, providing disadvantaged pre-school children with new books and plush toys. A teddy bear or $10 donation will get you a complimentary cocktail.

Can’t make it out on such short notice? Fear not. Next month’s event, set for Saturday, December 10 might be easier to pencil in and give you time to round up the troops.

A few other Ritz-Carlton properties in the area are also featuring the full moon as the guest of honor at their events, as well. The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has created a series of  four-course “Moonrise dinners” at their signature restaurant, Cioppino, featuring master Italian chef Ezio Gamba’s tasty Italian dishes.

They’ve also their Constellation Concierge, a private guide to the night sky that helps groups pinpoint celestial objects, including stars, planets, comets, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, throughout the course of their meal. Upcoming dinners are taking place on November 10 and December 10.

The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach hosts the Legends of the Full Moon series, highlighting a different moon legend each month and treating groups to snacks, drinks and dancing on the oceanfront Dilido Beach Club. One perk of attending is booking table reservations without the obligation of pricey bottle service, setting it apart from so many other venues in Miami.

November’s event focuses on Selene, the Greek titan of the moon, and takes place November 11 from 7-11 p.m. They’ll have a live chef action station, Ouozo cocktails and a fire dancer, to add to the fun. The following event is set for December 9 and will be centered around the legend of Tecciztecatl, the Mexican moon god.
