From sampling global cuisine to golfing on the first international PGA TOUR Academy, One&Only Resorts‘ got your group covered with their new line-up of location-inspired group experiences. With resorts in some of the most exotic destinations in the world, the company is offering groups an expert series, with each of the experiences having a unique style, borne of each resort’s local culture. Groups staying south of the Border can spice up their meetings in Mexico at One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos where they can take culinary classes, learn to play a soothing tune with resident musician Antonio Zepeda, or tee off at PGA TOUR’s golf course.

Having recently opened in November 2011, the One&Only Herb Garden features an outdoor kitchen that’s ideal for groups, offering complimentary culinary seminars and Iron-Chef style cook-offs. The sessions are led by on-site executive chefs, along with the occasional visiting local chef. The Garden was home to the first annual Mexican Culinary Festival last year and served as the venue for cooking demonstrations by participating celeb chefs Enrique Olvera, Daniel Ovadia and Edgar Nunez. Before the seminar begins, the Mexican Culinary School experience takes groups through a guided tour of the garden, where they can hand pick some of the ingredients commonly used in Mexican cuisine. Daily tours are available.

Another great group experience revolves around musician Antonio Zepeda, who uses Pre-Columbian instruments including the ocarina and conch shells to create harmonious sounds, teaching groups about the magic of harnessing the spiritual and physical benefits of sound. The sessions are complimentary for groups staying on property and the musical lessons focus on distinct realms of sound—each providing a different therapeutic benefit ranging from relaxation to a communion with nature. The hour-long sessions take place at dusk or dawn, on the resort’s pavilion which overlooks the majestic Sea of Cortez.

The resort also invites golfers to tee off at the PGA TOUR Academy’s par-72 Jack Nicklaus course. Beginners and veterans alike are encouraged to work on their game with personalized instruction from the nation’s most prestigious source of programs. One- to 3-day clinics are available, featuring a range of focuses and options. Try out their short-game clinics, guaranteed to reduce your scores.
