Already known for its immersive voyages, Azamara Club Cruises is taking groups from sea to land in an even bigger way with the launch of its first-ever train excursion.
In partnership with the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express, the cruise company will give groups the opportunity to easily extend a cruise meeting pre or post voyage via train as part of Azamara’s Land and Sea program. The train ride extends between London and Venice, and uses original 1920s vintage carriages that recreate the glamour of golden-era train travel. Sleeping Car 3425 even has a historic tale as the very car that King Carol stayed in with his mistress when escaping Romania in 1940. Groups will be especially impressed with the three-course lunches and four-course dinners that feature local ingredients from destinations on the train route. All of this can be experienced while catching views as the train passes by the Swiss Lakes and quaint European towns.
Plans for the train excursions will broaden in 2019 with offerings available for groups on Azamara’s Alaskan cruise to explore Canada by train via the Canadian Rocky Mountaineer. The Wilderness Express will take attendees past glaciers, fjords and other scenery not visible from the sea or even from the roads traveling from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Beyond that, there are more than 65 packages available through Canadian Rocky Mountaineer for groups to experience the Pacific Northwest and Canadian Rockies.
