Boutique hotels are perfect for smaller groups looking for a spot that guarantees adding a cultural element to the mix.

Luckily for meeting planners, there are at least five boutique hotels opening across the world, just in time for some uber-trendy meeting planning this year.

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge

1 Hotels opened its much-anticipated 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge in New York in February. The 194-room hotel’s eco-conscious design encourages sustainability at every turn. In the lobby, a 25-foot green wall greets groups, while a massive sculpture made of obsidian rock boulders anchors the space’s two-story industrial spiral staircase. An onsite yoga and barre studio operated by POE Yoga will encourage wellness-focused groups. Totaling more than 20,000 sf of meeting space, the property’s event space highlights include the 4,000-sf rooftop lounge (to debut in May) and a 50-seat screening room.

The Silo Hotel

Named after the building’s former use as a grain silo, this modern hotel is making quite the impression along the waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa. Opened on March 1, the only 28-room Silo Hotel features a rooftop with a glass pool and stunning views of Table Mountain. The property has more in store in 2017, however, with the September opening of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa that will be housed in the building’s bottom six floors.

21c Museum Hotel Nashville

Artistic groups will also delight in the trendy trifecta—part contemporary art museum, part hotel, and part restaurant and bar— that will make up the 21c Museum Hotel Nashville when it opens this spring (reservations starting May 10). The 124-room property will feature art programming in its exhibition space that’s open free of charge to the public and offer groups 10,500 sf of art-filled exhibition and event space.

Hotel VIA

San Francisco’s South Beach neighborhood in its SOMA neighborhood will be getting its first hotel, located right across the street from AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team. The 159-room Hotel VIA—in true tech-town style—will be designed with all the latest technologies. Highlights include in-room triple-play services (voice, video and data) and KEYPR, a highly connected keyless room entry, that makes it easy for attendees to check in even before arriving at the hotel. Event space highlights include the 12th-floor rooftop lounge, which will be especially epic on game days. The hotel opens later this spring, with reservations for stays officially starting on July 1.

Nobu Hotel Shoreditch

The Nobu brand is making its way across the Atlantic and opening its first European hotel in London’s artistic quarter. Nobu Hotel Shoreditch, scheduled to debut in June, will offer 143 guest rooms and seven suites as a side to the brand’s signature dining experience at the 240-seat Nobu Shoreditch restaurant, offering a mixture of Japanese, Peruvian and other South American cuisines. The hotel’s pocket garden will also provide the ultimate retreat from the busy streets of London.
