Seamless luxury is the guiding principle for Scenic, especially when it comes to group bookings and cruise experiences, and the new Scenic Eclipse takes the luxury experience up a notch. The first ocean cruise ship from Scenic will launch in the Mediterranean next fall before embarking on a maiden season through the Americas, the Arctic, Antarctica, Europe and the Fjords.
“Planners will love the truly all-inclusive nature of the Scenic brand,” says Joelle Davis, VP of brand management at Scenic. “From the time attendees step off the plane everything is included except for the spa services. For incentive groups, up to 50 percent of the ship is available for buyout, or the entire ship can be chartered.”
Less Stress With Scenic
Scenic’s version of the all-inclusive strives to make attendees feel like they can leave their wallets at home. Attendees will not be asked for a credit card at check-in, and groups will also be covered for any delays or cancellations that occur due to weather and other circumstances that are out of their control. Combine this with a ton of amenities for the price—a private butler for every guest, signature shore excursions, transfers to and from the ship and included tipping and gratuities—and it’s easy to see why Scenic is known as a worry-free cruise brand.
“The Scenic difference is less stress,” says Davis. “We are the only company to guarantee a refund on a portion of the trip if we cannot deliver a destination.”
Total Eclipse of the Sea
The new Scenic Eclipse boasts 114 suites, all with outside verandas, and its spacious surroundings host 228 guests—200 in the Arctic and Antarctica. The intimate numbers and an almost 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio ensure personal service and attention to detail for all attendees.
The ship has a choice of 10 dining experiences, including a degustation tasting menu, Pan-Asian fusion, French fine dining and a teppanyaki grill. A dedicated cooking emporium opens the door for culinary team building led by expert chefs. It’s also equipped with cooking stations and a hydroponic herb garden.
Enriching Excursions
Scenic excursions push the boundaries of expectation for attendees. “Enrich” takes groups behind the scenes for hyperlocal destination experiences that are often inaccessible to everyday travelers. Possibilities include a gala dinner and music performance in the prestigious Pope’s Palace in Avignon, France, high tea with a lord and lady on their private estate, or cultural music and dance events on the beaches of Colombia and Greece.
Scenic “Freechoice” excursions allow attendees to discover a destination at a pace that suits their activity level, dividing the experiences into active, moderate and relaxed. Fast-paced adventures include exploring Seville, Spain, by bike or snorkeling in Belize’s Giant Blue Hole, while more subdued activities include relaxing in the volcanic hot pools of Iceland or touring a whisky distillery on the Isle of Islay off the coast of Scotland.
The Scenic Eclipse’s two helicopters and seven-seat submarine create their own possibilities. Groups can explore the dramatic crags of the Scottish Isles, the volcanoes of Italy, the underwater ruins in Greece or coral reefs in the Caribbean in a submarine built for optimal sightseeing. The ship also has its own fleet of Zodiacs, as well as e-bikes, kayaks, scuba and snorkeling gear, giving groups everything t=hey need to get up close and personal with the destinations they visit.
