Omni’s TED-inspired “Be Collaborative” road show has been making its way across the US since August, leaving a trail of energized and refocused meeting planners in its wake. The professional development sessions are en route to Omni Barton Creek in Austin after whizzing through New York, Virginia and Illinois over the past month. Although the majority of the program’s focus revolves around spurring collaboration between clients and suppliers, Be Collaborative also touches on how to increase the effectiveness of meetings/events by leveraging industry trends.

True to its TED roots, Be Collaborative breaks down into three interactive sessions that feature a distinguished guest speaker and industry expert. The sessions: Straight Talk, Meetings Technology and Omni Meetings University are really just the tip of the iceberg; certified by the Convention Industry Council (CIC), the program also affords meeting planners continuing education credits.

“Be Collaborative provides planners and suppliers a platform to interact in a meaningful way that drives business results,” Tom Faust, VP of sales for Omni Hotels & Resorts recently said on the subject. STR and Meetings Technology will provide insights on meeting trends and how to apply them. Attendees of the Meetings Technology sessions will also receive an in-depth demo of OmniLink, the luxury brand’s new app powered by Encore Event Technologies that helps planners stay connected.

A presentation on Omni’s first online meeting planner educational portal, Omni Meetings University, will also give planners the 411 on all things Omni, including relevant programs and top meetings industry trends.
