Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort

After three years, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Fla., officially completed the largest transformation in the resort’s history.

The $140 million renovation project included a redesign of all 2,267 guest rooms between both the Swan Hotel and Dolphin Hotel as well as the Dolphin Resort lobby and all of the resort’s meeting space. The rooms now feature a look that’s more in line with the resort’s water-themed architecture, with hues of white, blue and gray. The new lobby space features a similar contemporary look, with a geometric ceiling and a grand chandelier made of 10,000 individual crystals.

Also new to the lobby is Fuel, the first dining venue to debut since the resort’s opening. The quick-service eatery offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options for attendees on the go. Its highlight: Delicious breakfast pastries and signature desserts and chocolates from Laurent Branlard, the resort’s pastry chef, are available most hours of the day. Phins, also centrally located in the lobby, is a new bar with seating for up to 150 attendees. Not only does it feature the resort’s own craft brew Phins & Feathers, but it also offers wine on tap and specialty cocktails.

Meeting planners will especially appreciate the resort’s renovated 332,000 sf of meeting space as well as the new 2,800-sf Lake View space, which features outdoor views of the resort’s private lake. Of course, new technology such as electronic reader boards and high-density Wi-Fi, offering uninterrupted internet to groups as large as 15,000 attendees, make the space that much more user friendly.

Lastly, for groups looking to get out and explore Disney’s Hollywood Studios, located within walking distance of the resort, they can look forward to the openings of Toy Story Land next year and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019.
