Secrets Resorts & Spas’ new property in Mexico will deliver “the same contemporary vibe as the rest of the Secrets brand,” says Violeta Sales, CMP/CMM, corporate director of groups for Secrets’ parent company, AM Resorts. “Unlimited luxury is our brand proposition. And the views of Cancun are phenomenal.”

Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, opening in November 2014, will be Secrets’ tenth property in Mexico. Most of its 425 suites afford a view of the Caribbean Sea, and the resort has a 16,000-sf spa, a fitness center, a swimming pool, several restaurants and access to a Greg Norman-designed championship golf course.

Located 35 minutes from the Cancun airport and 10 minutes from downtown Cancun, the resort offers groups more than 12,000 sf of meeting facilities. Choices include a ballroom with theater seating for up to 500; four flexible meeting rooms; and five smaller meeting rooms, including a boardroom. Groups can also use the resort’s teleconferencing and business center. Those who download the Secrets mobile app can get a range of benefits, including free calls to land lines in the U.S., Canada and Mexico; free WiFi throughout the resort; and connection to favorite social media platforms.

Sales says the resort expects most group business to come from incentive programs. Business has been good, she says: By June, the property had already been booked by 30 groups through the first quarter of 2015.
