New Unico Brand to Debut in Riviera Maya

The Unico brand aims to connect groups to the pulse of each destination.

Next year will see the launch of AIC Hotel Group’s all-inclusive, adults-only Unico Hotel Riviera Maya, the first of three hotels from its new Unico Hotels brand, offering groups a hyperlocal hotel with international flair. Unico plays on the latitude and longitude of its location—Riviera Maya’s vibe is defined by the coordinates 20° N 87° W—and therefore, the culture of its natural setting.

Unico aims to connect groups to the pulse of each destination. F&B options at the Riviera Maya property will include an on-site distillery or brewery that incorporates flavors and ingredients from the region, and an annual rotating chef concept with a focus on emerging local talent. Five bars—including a cigar lounge and two swim-up bars—and four restaurants will top off the hotel’s dining options.

Spontaneous pop-up programming will offer group activities such as Mezcal tastings, cocktail hour in the jungle and full moon parties on the beach. Local guides will lead private excursions and tours of off-the-beaten-track sites, and cooking classes will be taught by renowned chefs from the region. Groups can expect this same authenticity at the wellness center, which will feature a hydrotherapy circuit, hammam and customized classes.

The 448 rooms at Unico Hotel Riviera Maya will be decorated with local art available for purchase. An 11,600-sf ballroom anchors the hotel’s meeting space, which also includes two breakout rooms and outdoor event space.
