“The latest trend that we’ve seen in South Dakota is a shift to experiential travel,” says Cole Irwin, global travel and trade director, South Dakota Department of Tourism. “Attendees are interested in not just seeing a monument from the distance, but jumping in and experiencing it. There has been a large increase in meeting planners looking for a hands-on learning or adventure opportunity.”
Hiking in the Badlands
