Cuisine of Sicily
Verdura Resort, Sicily

The flavors of Sicily take center stage at Rocco Forte Hotels’ Verdura Resort, located on 550 acres of the island’s southwest coast.

The luxury resort brings the unique culture and cuisine of Sicily to meetings and events with an immersive program of excursions and activities.

The hotel has 203 rooms and suites with views over the Mediterranean Sea. Groups can choose from a selection of bespoke “Rocco Forte Journeys” designed to reveal the island’s hidden gems. Possibilities include a tour of Sicily’s temples in Agrigento at the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has some of the most well-preserved ancient Greek buildings outside of Greece, a food and wine tour where groups sample the island’s local specialties with olive oil tastings, and visits to vineyards and wineries.

Hyperlocal team building activities at the resort are plenty. A popular option is mastering the art of paper mache sculpting at Sciacca’s Carnival Museum, or attendees can learn how Sicilian carnival floats are made and create their own carnival masks and other items. A range of culinary experiences are also available, such as cooking classes on how to make popular Sicilian dishes with seasonal ingredients grown on-site, or mixology classes where Sicilian mojitos and other classic cocktails are given a local spin.
