Now there’s even more of an advantage for groups traveling to Singapore, with the Singapore MICE Advantage Programme (SMAP). The Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau (SECB) has partnered with Changi Airport Group and Singapore Airlines to develop this value-added program for event organizers—including everything from shopping vouchers for travelers to attendance-building assistance for planners.

“The premise of this program is that the delegate experience of Singapore can begin even before the usual welcome reception,” says Jeannie Lim, Executive Director, MICE, for the Singapore Tourism Board. “Through SMAP, we leverage the strengths of Singapore’s internationally acclaimed airline and the world’s best airport to extend the red-carpet treatment further.”

For event organizers, SMAP offers marketing assistance in the form of a free event listing on YourSingapore.com, as well as complimentary maps and collateral materials. There are also discounts on advertising spaces across all terminals at Changi Airport and a complimentary welcome desk to greet arriving attendees.

The bureau’s staff is available to assist with venue and tour/activity recommendations, introductions to relevant agencies, visa facilitation, and even financial support of up to 50 percent of qualifying costs for meetings and incentive trips of 100 attendees or more and 30 percent for conventions of 1,000 or more.

Through the partnership with Singapore Airlines, meeting and incentive planners receive up to two economy-class tickets, subject to a minimum spend on airfare, with up to five tickets for larger conventions of 1,000 or more participants. As a finishing touch, Singapore Airlines will offer a special on-board greeting for groups of more than 50 people.

The program offers a selection of the best available airfares on SIA from over 60 destinations. Upon check-in, attendees receive an excess baggage allowance. Once arriving at the world-class Changi Airport, they can spend their Changi Dollar Value vouchers shopping at luxury designer boutiques such as Bottega Veneta® and Burberry. Those who wish to extend their stay get special rates on the SIA Stopover Business and Holiday Programs, with rooms at 20 hotels, unlimited rides on the SIA Hop-on Bus and admission to over 20 tourist attractions, including Universal Studios Singapore®.

The program is available through December 2016 for events taking place until December 31, 2017. Visit www.yoursingapore.com/mice or visit [email protected] to learn more.
